Change is a natural part of any organization's growth, and at Jefferson Conservation District (JCD), we recently bid farewell to a valued member and welcomed a new, enthusiastic face into our conservation family. As we say goodbye to Tatum, whose dedication and hard work have left a lasting impact on JCD, we extend our warmest welcome to Bridgette, our new conservation forester.

Tatum, our esteemed conservation forester, leaves behind a legacy of commitment and passion for conservation at JCD. Her contributions have been invaluable, and as she embarks on new endeavors, we wish her nothing but success and fulfillment in her future ventures.

Now, we are thrilled to introduce Bridgette, the newest addition to our JCD team. Hailing from the picturesque town of Grand Junction, CO, Bridgette brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to her role. She holds a bachelor's degree in environmental science from Colorado College and a master's degree in natural resource management from Colorado State University.

What sets Bridgette apart is her genuine love for the great outdoors and her keen eye for the small wonders of nature. In her first few weeks with JCD, she has already had some remarkable encounters with wildlife, including elk, deer, a Great Horned Owl, a Stellar's Jay, and she even stumbled upon an elk tooth! Her passion for conservation work goes hand in hand with her appreciation for the intricate details of projects.

Bridgette's heart lies in the rugged beauty of the San Juan Mountains, a place she holds dear. She has a soft spot for the diverse flowering species found in the high desert, particularly the various Penstemon and Castilleja species that paint the landscape with vibrant hues.

Outside of her conservation endeavors, Bridgette enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. As a true Coloradan, she indulges in typical outdoor activities that the state has to offer, from camping under the starlit sky to skiing down the powdery slopes and biking through scenic trails.

As Bridgette embarks on this new chapter with us, we are excited about the fresh perspectives and innovative ideas she brings to our team. Together, we look forward to achieving new milestones, preserving the natural beauty of our surroundings, and making a positive impact on our community.

Join us in welcoming Bridgette to Jefferson Conservation District! Here's to a future filled with exciting adventures, remarkable memories, and impactful conservation efforts. Best wishes to Tatum in her future endeavors, and here's to a bright and promising journey ahead for Bridgette and the entire JCD family! 🌱🌿 #ConservationJourney #NewBeginnings #TeamWork #NatureLovers 🍃
